First days of harvest

Arbequina Extra Virgin Olive Oil, limited edition to the first days of harvest (28 September – 7 October 2022) from our Hacienda Merrha, in the land of Los Alcores (Seville). To produce 1 litre, 12-13 kilos of olives are needed (5 kg are usual). In this way we can obtain an Extra Virgin Gourmet at the expense of quantity.

TASTING NOTES 2022 – 2023

Type Extra Virgin Olive Oil, fruity green and intense.

Nose Green hints of herbaceous, grass and vegetables. Reminiscences of fruit appear, predominantly green, but with a certain ripeness. Hints of tomato and spices, with an almond finish.

Mouth Sweet entry with a medium bitterness and a medium-high spiciness that appears with a delay and increases. The same memories appear as in the nose and leaves the mouth with astringency.

Notes Complex and full-bodied

Breakfast, aperitif (bread), green salads, grilled fish, boiled vegetables, pasta salads.

Basilippo Selección Arbequina

Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Arbequina olives grown in the area of Los Alcores (Carmona) and harvested at the optimum time of ripeness (Envero). To obtain one litre, 8-9 kg. Olives are needed to obtain one litre (5 kg. are usual), thus achieving the best ratio between quality and quantity.

TASTING NOTES 2022 – 2023

Type Extra Virgin Olive Oil, green fruity and medium intensity.

Nose Ripe fruity with green notes, predominantly fruity, green and ripe, like fruit salad. Slight hints of grass.

Mouth Very sweet entry with a light bitterness and a medium-low spiciness that appears with a delay and increases. The same memories appear as in the nose and it has a finish of dried fruits.

Notes Sweet and harmonious.

FOOD PAIRINGS

Seafood salads, cold soups (Salmorejo etc), creams, desserts, duck foie, mayonnaise and mild sauces, especially for children.

Basilippo Selección Picual

Extra virgin olive oil from Picual olives grown in the Hacienda “La Merced” of Basilippo in the heart of the Campiña de Los Alcores (Alcalá de Guadaira) and harvested by hand before maturing. A variety of olives unpublished in Basilippo, very young olive trees that have remained and place their precious juice among the best, very limited products.

Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Picual olives grown in the Hacienda “La Merced” of Basilippo located in the heart of the Campiña de Los Alcores (Alcalá de Guadaira) and harvested by hand at the optimum moment of ripening (Envero).

To obtain one litre, 10 kg of olives were needed (5 kg would be normal), thus obtaining the best quality/quantity ratio.

Type Extra Virgin Olive Oil, green and intense fruity.

Nose Green fruity with slight ripeness. Hints of herbaceous, olive leaf and vegetable. Hints of fruit, especially apple and hints of aromatic herbs such as thyme and fresh oregano. A finish of tomato between green and ripe.

Mouth Sweet entry with a medium bitterness with astringency and a medium spiciness that permeates the whole mouth. It has the same memories as on the nose, especially olive leaf and tomato.

Notes Complex and with a touch of aromatic herbs.

FOOD PAIRINGS

Vegetables (carrots, asparagus, etc), cheeses, green sauces, bread (breakfast, aperitifs, etc), salmorejo.

Organic extra virgin olive oil made from two olive varieties as different as Manzanilla and Arbequina, grown in our own organic olive groves and harvested at the optimal time of ripeness. Combine them and you get a unique, fresh and complex result. Quality and ecology in one product with a very attractive design.

Extra Virgin Olive Oil Coupage of Manzanilla and Arbequina varieties grown in our organic olive groves Pago Cerros Blancos in Carmona (Seville) and harvested by hand at the optimal time of ripeness.

Grown and produced under Organic Certification, it is presented in a bottle dedicated to our grandfather, Antonio Ruiz, who appears in the background contemplating his work at dawn while thinking that perhaps one day, he will be able to enjoy the fruit of his olive grove in a bottle.

TASTING NOTES 2022 – 2023

Type Medium-high fruity, green with hints of ripe fruit.

Nose Reminiscent mainly of green herbaceous and flowering grass, with hints of olive leaf and tomato, it also has hints of fruit such as banana or banana peel, with notes of apple and alloza.

Mouth Presents a slightly sweet entry and a medium bitterness of 4 that persists and a spiciness of 4.5/5.0, which is increasing and remains. The oil leaves the mouth fresh and fresh in the mouth with a slight astringency.

Notes The fruit is green with slight ripe touches. Alloza and nutty notes on the finish.

FOOD PAIRINGS

Dressings (potato, tomato, etc), grilled vegetables, pasta dishes, barbecue, game meat, marinades and strong sauces.

Extra virgin olive oil naturally flavoured with oranges from our La Merced estate in Alcalá de Guadaíra (Seville). This “signature oil” elegantly combines the goodness of our Arbequina extra virgin olive oil with the best oranges, combining the flavours and, above all, the aromas of both.

TASTING NOTES

Type Fruity citrus.

Nose Very intense and fresh aroma of orange peel and orange blossom. Hints of banana and apple.

Mouth Very sweet and smooth. No bitterness or spiciness, intense and persistent citrus finish.

Aftertaste Almond, orange marmalade.

FOOD PAIRINGS

Ideal with fruit salads, fish, smoked meats, parmesan cheese, chocolate ice cream and desserts.

TASTING NOTES

Type Sweet-fruity.

Nose Seductive and tempting aroma of fresh vanilla and a touch of ripe banana.

Mouth Sweet and very smooth, without bitterness and with a very pleasant slightly spicy finish.

Aftertaste Cocoa, almond.

Perfect with bread and jam, fish (tuna…), smoked cheese, sweets, Greek yoghurt, cakes and biscuits.
