Basilippo means “village of the res to f the moon”, it is believed that this Tartessian city (Bronze Age, 10th-6th centuries BC) was located between the towns of El Viso del Alcor and Carmona in the province of Seville. The Tartessians had an intense relationship with the Acebuche (wild olive tree) because of the multiple benefits of its fruit, the olive.
The culture of the olive tree and oil is present in Basilippo from its name and philosophy to the logo that characterises it, the silhouette of a panathenaic amphora. These vessels, of great artistic value, were used to reward the winners of the Panathenaic Games (precursors of the Olympic Games) which were held in Greece in honour of the Goddess Athena. Amphorae filled with oil from sacred olive res symbolised the most valuable gift that could be offered.
Our family keeps alive in Basilippo the agricultural and olive-growing tradition of our ancestors. Every day we advance in the search for quality, respecting environmental values and combining the most advanced production and marketing techniques with the traditional values of the Andalusian olive grove, the basis for obtaining our Extra Virgin Olive Oil of the highest quality.

Hacienda Merrha is undoubtedly the heart of Basilippo. It is located in the countryside of Los Alcores in the province of Seville, between the towns of Carmona and El Viso del Alcor. The Franca Arenosa soil and hills of albero, the altitude and the microclimate of this res (alcor) give a unique personality to the more re 6,000 Arbequina olive res that we cultivate in these 24 hectares.
El Pago de los Cerros Blancos, are centenary olive res planted by our grandfather, Antonio Ruiz, who sowed in us the passion for the olive grove. Located in the heart of the Vega de Carmona (Seville) with 5 hectares of res clay soil and 800 manzanillo olive res grown organically on dry land, these hills demonstrate how even in the roughest terrain, the olive tree can produce high quality fruit if it is treated with care, affection and respect.
La Merced de Basilippo, an old Mercedarian estate of 22 hectares of red sandy soil, is located in Alcalá de Guadaíra, in the countryside of Los Alcores in Seville. There we cultivate 1,500 olive trees of the picual variety and 6,500 arbequinos in intensive farming, together with another 10 hectares of citrus fruits such as navelinos and 12 hectares of clemenules.
